Kishidan’s New Album (And My Favorite Kishidan Songs)

Kishidan, another of my favorite six-man bands, is releasing a new album: Kisarazu Graffiti!

It came out a few days ago. I want it so, so badly.

Kishidan is one of my favorite Japanese bands. Singing songs with themes ranging from camaraderie to love to just plain badassery, their classic style is fierce and unforgettable. Jump the cut and see some of my favorite songs/videos of theirs!

A song I first discovered on their fantastic album I Love You, I’m particularly fond of blasting this in the car.

A rightfully popular song of theirs. This song is featured in Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, a game I also love, into which Kishidan fits perfectly. (Although the stage it’s used on is about a musician with stomach problems and a superhero fighting inside of him… yeah.)

The video that made me finally decide that Kishidan was definitely awesome several years ago. Just feel the emotion! Marvel at the exploding body parts! By the way, as a warning, it’s extremely (and comically) violent, and the ending is kind of depressing. This song is in Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii, Ouendan‘s sequel. I actually don’t like its cover very much in that game, or its stage, but it was definitely suited to the type of game anyway.

I love this video. That’s all I can say. It’s so weird and adorable and over-the-top. Man-fairies!

The very first video of theirs that I ever saw. Isn’t it silly awesome?
