I don’t have to tell you that I loved TCAF again this year, and possibly love Toronto more this time than I did last. It’s a given, an almost unanimous sentiment among friends who also traveled there from the states.
I ate well for the whole weekend (surrounded by food in the blocks surrounding the Reference Library, you don’t even have to consider what to eat — and luckily I budgeted for it this time), and I managed not to run myself ragged despite the scramble to get in some hanging-out time and toting around hefty book purchases (and my own art stuff) throughout the weekend.
The pleased aura of the exhibitors and the high praise and awareness spread of the event says it all. TCAF is always a high-quality experience. And with no barriers to entry for buyers, it’s no wonder why: it’s not many events where you’re presented with such high quality with such ease of access, especially not for me in my hometown (and especially for comics). It says a lot that many of us were willing to travel so far, as well. I’m thankful to have been in the presence of so many cool people.
People often spoke well of TCAF on Twitter, and I went, twice. If I can, I’ll go again next year, and the year after.
