Summer Games Done Quick 2024: Dogs Should Be Allowed to Play Baseball

They said it couldn’t be done, maybe even that it shouldn’t be done — but dogs can play baseball!!

Not only that, they can speedrun it, as one such shiba inu did at this past Summer Games Done Quick 2024, a charity marathon benefiting Doctors Without Borders! Peanut Butter, who previously did a remote speedrun of Gyromite in January, was in-person this year for the most hype speedrun since…well, his last appearance, and he knocked it out of the park even back then! At the time, I never considered that a dog could also be trained to play a game other than the traditionally robot-assisted NES game, but I was swiftly proven wrong. JSR has truly raised a good boy!

Not only did Peanut Butter beat the game in less than the estimated 30 minutes, but he did it with a walk-off home run. It just doesn’t get more exciting than that!

As of this post, there’s still about 9 hours of the marathon, where you can donate and be eligible to potentially win prizes themed after the games being speedrun!
