Mantises are among my absolute favorite insects! I’ve hardly seen any in person for my whole life, so I go crazy whenever I do. Here’s one I found on one of my plants recently — and just barely. Look at how it blends in!

My ultimate goal is to one day photograph an orchid mantis with a very nice macro lens. An orchid mantis (or a plant pretending to be one — an ingenious reversal!) was recently announced for the upcoming Pokémon game, something I’ve wanted for a while now.
